4 Powerful Reasons Why Articles Are The Best Seo Tools

0

There are many tools and strategies that you can use to improve your ranking on search engines and drive traffic to your website.

Among all the different search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, writing and submitting articles remains the best strategy. This article outlines the key reasons why articles are the most powerful SEO tool.

1.   Article writing is powerful in SEO because it allows you to use many keywords and phrases that apply to your niche. If you know all your essential keywords, you can use them in your articles. The articles you distribute that have your keywords will get picked up by search engines such that when people surfing the internet type in these keywords, your website comes up. You can rank high on search engines for all your keywords through the articles that you write and distribute on the internet.

2.   Article writing brings life long results in SEO. All the articles that you write are stored and archived on the directories in which they are published. This means that all your articles can be read by anyone and can still drive traffic to your website. Unlike other tools of driving traffic to your website, articles bring long term results.

3.   Articles create many back links to your website, which improves your website popularity rank and ultimately drives large volume of traffic to your website. If you write high quality articles, your articles will get published by many websites and e-zines, hence increasing back links to your website. Having many links pointing back to your website is important as it improves the position of your website on search engines.

4.   Articles are an affordable SEO tool. Writing and submitting articles is not expensive. You can write your own articles or you can hire a ghostwriter. You can manually submit your articles or you can use some software to automatically submit your article to many directories. Generally, use of articles to improve your position on search engines is not expensive and anyone can afford it. Search engine optimization pricing is not hard to figure out — you can write your own articles for free!

Writing and submitting articles is clearly the best strategy for improving the ranking of your website on search engines. If you want to succeed in SEO, it is important that you write and submit more articles.

How to use an RSS blog reader?

RSS Blog ReaderWe’d like to introduce you to one of those cool networking tools out there that will help you with your blogging, education, and networking efforts. This may seem like a very basic concept, but our motto is “one step at a time”, and we’d like to express the importance of setting this tool up: if you haven’t done so already, now would be a good time.

What is this nifty little tool? An RSS* blog reader, online blog reader, or RSS feed reader.

What is a blog reader? A blog reader is an organizer for all your favorite blogs. It allows you to collect RSS feeds from all over, into one place, and administer them as you like. You can often group them by name or class, choose to receive email digests, bookmark your favorites, and more.

Readers are provided by many different sites out there, such as: Bloglines, Google Reader, NewsGator, SharpReader, NetNewsWire, or RSS Bandit. (Google Reader is the best RSS feed reader for us). Again, if you don’t yet have a reader, take some time this week to get one started — you’ll be glad you did.

How to use your reader for blogging. Coming up with content is always on the mind of a blogger, and often a struggle. Keeping up to date on blogs related to your industry can give you fresh ideas of what to write on your own. Don’t copy others, but if you have your own fresh take on a subject, or notice something they missed, write about it!

How to use your reader for networking. Networking** is a great way to take part in your online community, and drive traffic to your own website. Find blogs that interest you — news, music, religion, yoga — it doesn’t have to be in your industry, just things that interest you. Comment on other people’s blogs. Take part in discussions. Thumbs up or down others’ comments. A web RSS reader gives you quick access.

How to use your reader for education. The web is abundant with free information and education. We suggest you create a section in your reader of blogs written by the leaders of your industry. This helps you stay ahead of the game, and (most important) continue to provide value to your customers.

Website planning

Guide to website planning

2

Website planningEveryone wants to have a successful website. Successful entrepreneurship often depends on building an effective website, especially for those with a strictly online business.

To create a successful website for yourself, you must first define ‘success’. To have a successful website, you must decide how you intend to use it. Below are the most basic purposes a website can be used for.

1. Placeholder. This is the most basic use of a website. A placeholder gives your business a domain name, email addresses, and conveys basic information about your company such as contact information, and location. This may be useful for certain kinds of businesses, but is becoming used less frequently.

2. Marketing tool. This the most common use of websites, currently. Successful website marketing contains many aspects (such as the Interrupt and Call to Action*), which we will cover in later articles. But consider the benefits of a website. It is available 24/7. It is accessible from anywhere in the world. It can be used to convey information (as a Placeholder), but it can also be used to communicate your higher values, evoke emotions, and engender trust.

3. Sales tool. Sales and marketing sometimes get confused. The difference is that sales includes the exchange of goods and services for money. This requires some technical advances in your site such as merchant account, and merchant gateway. It may seem like a scary step, but it seems a shame to have nationwide exposure, and nationwide traffic coming to your site, and to not turn it into cash flow.

Don’t wait! The beauty of having a website is that you can choose your level of commitment. You can also get started at one level, and gradually grow your site to include more and more features. For instance, if you have few resources at your disposal, start with your site as a “Placeholder”.

Next, as your message becomes clear, you can mature your site, and use it as a “Marketing tool.” From there, it seems a natural progression to offer products and services accessible to all. But as we say, take a step at a time. Be deliberate, and take the right steps. We’re here to help.

Stay tuned, as we share more on how to create effective content, maximize your SEO, and more.

Happy Planning!

Don't wait to act

To wait, or not to wait?

0

Don't wait to actThat is a question that faces most businesses. Wait to grow? Wait to launch? Wait to create? And yet, it is waiting that kills many businesses.

I had a client, let’s call him Mr. Balloon, whose business imploded because of waiting. He was extremely business savvy, yet got caught in the Vortex of Inaction.

His purpose for bringing me in was to grow the business. But as we worked together, it became clear that he wasn’t ready. He knew exactly what he needed to do to grow the business, but there was always a reason for not getting started. For instance, he wanted to overhaul his website. But before he could do that he had to get some professional photos of products taken. But before he could do that he needed to finish a services trade with a photographer. But before he could do that he had to sit down and decide what his product offerings were going to be. Before that he had to finish taxes for this year. But couldn’t do that until the year was over… and on and on.

It seemed that no matter what needed to be done, it couldn’t because something else took priority.

Maybe you too have a list of to-do’s, but you’re waiting for something. What to do?

1. Let’s start with a tough question. “What’s REALLY holding you back?”
What are you trying to avoid? It’s not on that endless list you’ve created. This can only be answered from within. And to cut right to the quick, it’s probably some fear that you have inside. Fear of success, fear of failure. Take a moment to quietly reflect on what your fear is, and why you’re letting it hold you back.

2. Your plan: Write it down. Implement it.
This should be part of your business plan. Writing it down makes it concrete. I mean, how committed are you if you won’t even write it down? Writing it down also lets others know you’re serious — trust me, they’ll respond.

Don’t wait for it to be perfect!
Don’t detour if you found a better solution!

Deliver what you say, when you say. Adjust along the way. If you wait until a product is perfect before releasing it, it will probably never get released, because there are always improvements to be made.

But use this to your advantage. Whatever your product is, it’s a step up from what your purchasers were using before. And while they are using it and loving it, you are creating the improved version.

More benefits to not waiting:
1. the income from sales funds your future creations,
2. create fans and future buyers,
3. increase your exposure by word-of-mouth (aren’t fans great?)

So, the moral of the story is: Don’t wait. Never wait. Always be in some form of action (planning, designing, implementing)

Moja Mix

Variety: It’s the spice of life

1

Moja MixSalt, pepper, curry, saffron… ranch, blue cheese, Italian, house… Yup, tons of choices out there. In a world as competitive as ours, it doesn’t hurt to use a little strategy.

You offer products and services. It’s your responsibility to know the mind of your target market–your potentials. With so many options out there, consumers aren’t just buying out of necessity. Buyers have the luxury of choice.

Exploit variety. There’s two ways to look at it: Your potentials could be comparing your product to other brands, or they could be comparing your product to … your products. Take Moja Mix, for example. They’ve got a great concept.

When you go to their website, you get absorbed in a sea of options. Potential clients are no longer wondering about price comparisons with Kellogg’s or Quaker Oats. They have plenty of options… right here. PLUS, it’s fun! There’s a variety of grains, flakes, fruits, nuts, seeds.

Don’t be discouraged by the preponderance of options, Moja Mix makes another smart move: Suggestions. Now that they have your attention, they’ve gone a step further and done some of the work for you. Some people don’t know what they want: Some of your clients won’t be sure what they want.

So, give your clients options, and make suggestions. Happy marketing.

Twitter Train - TwitterBuilderUnfortunately, we have to list our very first “Two Thumbs Down”. We don’t do it lightly. This Twitter Review is dedicated to “Followers Train”, found at TwitterBuilding.com.

Let us preface by saying that this is actually a fantastic idea. Very simple and straight-forward. It’s something akin to what you’ll find at WeFollow.com, but much more basic.

The synopsis is that you create an account, and hang out online — the idea being that everyone online sees each other and follows each other. This is a spaghetti-on-the-wall approach, NOT intended to help you find a targeted market. But let’s face it, people like to follow people with lots of other followers. I mean, if they have lots of followers, they must be doing something right. Right?

Well, the thumbs down comes for the following main reasons:
Two thumbs down

  • poor graphics & layout
  • very few followers (and few of them are online at any given time, meaning you have to hangout online for a long time just to get some followers
  • google ads spackle the site, making it difficult to read & navigate, and…
  • the #1 reason is that they take over your Twitter account and post annoying, automated messages on your account at least once a day. Often several times a day.

We had to cancel our account to get the daily auto-tweets stopped. (Well, we hope that did the trick). Let us not be totally down on this site. It has some potential. But even if they had put in a TINY bit more effort, the overall effect would have been better, and I think that’s the most perturbing thing.

UPDATE: This post now includes www.twtexpress.info. We wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same people pulling of the same half-hock operation. Two thumbs down “Get Followers”.

Happy Tweeting!

Copycat!

copycatNo, that’s not an accusation, it’s a command!

In some ways you are probably trying to do something different, whether it be what you offer, or how you offer it. Yes you must be unique and stand out to succeed, BUT… Don’t reinvent the wheel! That’s an uphill battle, and one that you shouldn’t be wasting your time with.

Instead, study what’s been proven effective, and implement it in your business plan. If you’re feeling stuck and hitting your head against the wall, stop for a second and see if there isn’t a better way. To use another analogy — Don’t break ground for a road that’s already been paved.

Don’t try to reinvent effective marketing. Don’t try to reinvent good sales copy. Don’t waste your time trying to do differently what’s already been tested and proven effective. Buy some books (or check them out from the library).

Paved road - don't reinvent the wheelCopycat. Copycat, meaning: Do some research. See what works, then mimic it. There’s lots of successful businesses out there, large and small. Infants learn by copying their parents and siblings. Your business should likewise strive to emulate a successful business model. If you can, find a business that successfully models your ideal situation. Take notes.

Talk to an owner or manager. In my experience, most small business owners are more than happy to network, and share what they’ve learned with others. It takes a brave and pioneering spirit to step out on your own, and people respect that–especially those who’ve done it.

For instance, you’ll see a lot of famous copycat action going on in the restaurant industry. Famous recipes, industry secrets, all are sought after because they create success. So, as we like to say, no need to reinvent the wheel. Observation and above-board gumshoeing* should do!

Happy business building!
