How to Create a Fan Community
The following is a great presentation given by Spike Jones. He covers 10 characteristics of ‘Movements’ (fads that never die). While you may not be trying to ignite a movement, he gives some useful insight into HOW to approach your community and future prospects. Some of these characteristics are:
1. Find what people are passionate about. It’s not about the product, it’s about people do with the product.
2. Movements have inspirational leadership – passion can’t be created, but influence can. Talk to people. Listen to what they say. Create what they want.
3. Movements have powerful identities – we all want to be bigger than we are: religion, sports teams, even brands.

Peter,
Thanks for this terrific, helpful video clip. I’m in the middle of a number of deadlines – but I stopped to view this clip.
I’m glad I had the opportunity to hire you
to set up my blog http://www.BeHeardandBeTrusted.com
And I have provided “word of mouth” praise to a number of friends and colleagues.
a great day,
Tom
